This pair of heddle sticks came to Winterthur alongside a loom that had been used in Southeastern Pennsylvania for over two hundred years. They hold the heddles, loops of string used to raise and lower the warp threads, as part the shafts on the loom. These are marked with the numeral "VI" and divided into 7/8" divisions, indicating the fineness of the fabric that they were meant to weave.
